Recently, our team at Mr. Shrink worked together with Inegra on a project to cover a 50 m x 15 m ship’s chimney so it could move to the final stage of painting and then be sent to Italy for assembly.
The Project
The chimney needed full protection from the elements during surface preparation and painting. Using scaffolding and shrink wrap, we created a sealed enclosure around the entire structure to ensure ideal working conditions.
Working Around the Weather
Conditions on site were not ideal. We had a heat wave, and a minor tornado passed through the area the night before. Even so, the crews returned to the site, checked if all was in order, and continued the work with safety in mind. The enclosure was finished on schedule and ready for painting.
Result for the Customer
Despite the challenging weather, the chimney was wrapped in record time and could move forward to the next stage and on to Italy as planned. The customer was pleased with both the quality of the shrink wrap and the service provided.
Why Teamwork Matters
This project shows how coordinated work between scaffolding and shrink wrap teams helps keep large industrial jobs on track. Clear communication, planning, and practical problem‑solving made it possible to deliver a reliable result in a short timeframe.
